The background images were created in Photoshop. The design was created in Quark as a class project, and then converted to JPEGs for submission.
The front cover image was inspired by a section of the novel that describes a long journey in darkness down a tunnel, and depicts the dark tunnel with the Man in Black waiting on the other side.
The Viking logo is only an approximation. The text was acquired from Amazon.com's descriptive notes.
