Allers förlag’s consumer title portfolio attracts majority of Scandinavian consumers

"The Photoshop integration is seamless and gives our designers enormous flexibility.

Allers  förlag is part of the large family-owned media group, Carl Allers Etablissement A/S, one of Scandinavia’s leading media groups. Its core business activities include magazine publishing, Internet publications, TV and radio, mobile phone content, and audio and printed books.

Allers förlag primarily focuses on publishing consumer magazines and produces a total of 28 weekly and monthly titles in Sweden in QuarkXPress® 7, which amounts to a massive 1.5 million copies on weekly basis. With an impressive 80% market share and leading the 30+ women’s weekly segment, it is clear that Allers did something special to differentiate its titles from the host of others available in this highly competitive market.

Allers recognised that while content is obviously a key component to a magazine, the actual look and feel of the magazine is paramount. The new features in QuarkXPress 7 enabled them to enhance their graphical capabilities and produce a superior product — one that stood out from the crowd.

“We are constantly looking for ways to differentiate our titles from our competitors, and QuarkXPress 7 gives us this edge. The enhanced transparency and drop shadows capabilities are of particular interest to our designers, as this will give them more design tools and enable them to be more creative. The Photoshop® integration is seamless and gives our designers enormous flexibility.” said Erik Ahlström, IT manager, Allers förlag.
