Quark has recently announced the QuarkXPress® 8.1 updater, the latest update of QuarkXPress that delivers customer requested enhancements that will further boost productivity. Quark has a great track record in offering free product updates during the life of the current version of QuarkXPress that include not only performance improvements but also valuable new features. QuarkXPress 8 is no exception. The new QuarkXPress 8.1 updater adds new features and also addresses outstanding customer-reported issues – you can view a full list here.

• Fast and flexible PDF output: New Native Transparency mode allows objects to which QuarkXPress transparency has been applied to remain unflattened in the final PDF output, resulting in improved performance and flexibility of PDF export.

• QuarkXPress layers in PDFs: Only QuarkXPress 8.1 offers an interface where you can select which layout layers to export to PDF on a layer-by-layer basis so you can send content with multiple variants to your output provider.
